Furnace Repair

Your furnace giving out can be pretty overwhelming, especially during the colder months, but with Schraer Air’s emergency servicing, it doesn’t have to be. A few common problems include:

Faulty thermostats

Ensure that your thermostat is instructing you furnace to turn on, and is set to the right settings. (i.e. “heat” instead of “cool” or “off” – fan “on” instead of “auto” or “off” – and that it is set to “run” during the appropriate time of day) For digital thermostats, a change of batteries may be needed.

Dirty Filters

Clogged filters can give your furnace a lot of trouble, from restricted airflow to overheating to furnace failure, it is vital to your home comfort that you keep your filters clean.

Pilot light problems

Your problems may be as simple as a pilot light that went out. Check the label on your furnace for instructions on how to relight it if this is the case. If that doesn’t work, you may be out of propane or natural gas service could be turned off.

Furnace Installation

Replacing your aging furnace for the first time can seem like a gamble. Will it start without a problem? Will it work smoothly the entire season? Or will it fail all of a sudden the day a blizzard rolls in?

Furnace installation is hassle-free with our team of professionals at Schraer Air. We sell and service all sorts of equipment to satisfy not only your comfort, but your budget as well. We have tons of energy-efficient and high-efficiency furnaces that should keep those utility costs low and your home cozy.

Our team of experts is ready to assist you in finding the perfect fit for your home. Budget, tank size, energy-efficiency, features, warranty, and financing options are all things we will cover when helping you make a decision.

Will my new furnace work differently than my old one?

It all depends on how old your previous furnace was. Furnaces today are designed for efficiency, producing smooth temperature regulation and air flow. Additionally, new furnaces are crafted to integrate with other high-efficiency HVAC products such as AC units. The AC blowers offer your heating system an extra lift so it can deliver cool air around your home efficiently. Other special features such as variable speed motors will decrease the noise associated with operating your equipment, to keep your home cozy and quiet.

Keeps Your Residence Safe

Most furnaces need natural gas to generate heat, and the heat exchanger performs an essential role in this process. If this bit is broken, carbon monoxide could flow into your home. This dangerous gas is lethal in large concentrations.

We’ll take a close look at the heat exchanger, as well as burners and valves to ensure your residence is safe.

reliable operation

Having your furnace quit on you when you need it most isn’t fun, especially when you find out how it could have been prevented.

Our professionals can inspect your system, making sure everything’s running like it should. This helps to avoid those costly fixes. While we’re at it, we can also help you determine when it’s time for a new furnace to be installed.

Maintains Furnace Efficiency

Routine tune-ups keep debris off your system and play an important part in maximizing performance throughout the harshest months of the year. This will lower your energy costs throughout the year and give you peace of mind, knowing the stresses of winter operation won’t create a drag on your budget or equipment.

Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are best known for their benefits of offering fully electric, all-in-one heating and cooling.

They can be installed in nearly any room of the house and are a highly affordable option—thanks to their extremely energy-efficient capabilities that provide powerful, long-lasting home comfort. It’s not surprise then that they have surged in popularity, giving homeowners impressive savings over the lifetime of the equipment.

A few reasons to choose heat pumps include:

Custom control

Set the temperature differently in each room.

Energy savings

Turn off the air in rooms you’re not using, saving on your monthly energy bills.

Low maintenance

Annual maintenance is all you need to keep your system running efficiently.

Affordable

Installing ductless HVAC units in your home usually costs less than installing just a furnace or air conditioning unit.

Our team is happy to share more of the benefits and help you find the best fit for your home. Call or schedule with Schraer today for any of your home comfort needs.

Air Conditioner Repair

It’s crucial to be able to depend on your AC unit, especially during those brutal summer months. It’s equally as crucial to have someone you can depend on to fix it, should it give out. Schraer Air offers emergency repairs to keep you stress-free and comfortable.

A few common issues you may encounter include:

Wrong thermostat settings

If your thermostat isn’t telling your AC to start, it won’t turn on. Make sure it is set to “cool” and not “heat” or “off”. If your AC temperature is set to the same or higher than the temperature of the house, it won’t run. Try setting it 5 degrees below the room temperature and wait a few minutes to see if it turns on.

Low or leaking refrigerant levels

Geothermal

Geothermal

Geothermal

Why Should I Choose Geothermal?

Geothermal heating and cooling systems have the lowest life-cycle cost of all heating and cooling systems on the market today. That means lower maintenance costs and a longer life expectancy over traditional systems. But the benefits don’t stop there:

Industry Leading Warranties

We’re so confident in our equipment that we decided to back it with the best warranty in the geothermal industry.

Local/State Incentives

Numerous states, local municipalities, and utilities now offer rebates, tax incentives or low interest loans to support your installation.

Earth Friendly

Geothermal systems have a positive impact on our environment since they don’t burn fossil fuels and use very little electricity. This enhances our efforts to control pollution, green-house emissions, and other issues that impact our everyday environment.

Free Hot Water

A geothermal system has the capability of capturing reclaimed heat during the heating and cooling modes thus reducing a typical 4-person household's water heating cost by 50% to 60%.

Maximum Efficiency

Geothermal systems are up to 500% efficient. In fact, the U.S. EPA has recognized geothermal systems as the most energy efficient heating and cooling systems on the market today.

Equipment Longevity

You can expect your geothermal system to provide an average of 20-24 years of reliable comfort and savings as compared to the 13-15 year life expectancy of conventional systems.

Safe and Secure

With geothermal, fossil fuels are not used to generate heating or cooling. Since there is no combustion, there is no chance of explosion, hazardous fumes or risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Versatility

Our geothermal heat pumps are the perfect fit for nearly anywhere – ideal for retrofitting an older home or for installation in a new home, they work well in rural, urban and suburban locations.

How Does GeoThermal Work?

How Does GeoThermal Work?

How Does GeoThermal Work?

Nearly 50% of the sun's heat is stored a few feet below the earth’s surface. Geothermal pulls that stored heat in the winter and distributes it to your home. In the summer, that process is reversed and the heat in your home is redistributed to the earth, leaving cool air behind. There are several options for installing a geothermal system:

Horizontal Installation

This is the most common loop used when adequate land area is available. Trench lengths range from 100 to 300 feet, depending on the loop design and application.

Vertical Installation

This loop is used mainly when land area is limited and in retrofit applications of existing homes. A drilling rig is used to bore holes at a depth of 150 to 200 feet.

Pond/Lake Loop

This is an option if a large body of water is available within approximately 200 feet of the home. A 1/2 acre, 8 to 10 foot deep body of water is typically adequate to support the average home.

Open Loop

This system can be installed if an abundant supply of high quality well water is available. A typical home will require 4 to 8 gallons of water per minute. A proper discharge area such as a river, drainage ditch, field tile, stream, pond, or lake must be present.
